Goat
If you've already been to the Pork section of the site, you already know that goat is not the world's most eaten meat, contrary to a widely-held popular belief. That said it is widely eaten, with over 924 million live goats around the globe. Goats are among the longest-domesticated species of animals in human history, with the estimated date going back to well over 8,000 years ago. There are more than 300 species of domestic goats raised for their meat, milk, and hides. Goat meat, depending on the age, diet, breed, and how it was raised, is often compared to lamb, mutton, or venison in flavor.
